System “AREV” information communication for persons with impaired vision in Armenian

The system developed by YCRDI has the following features:

• Keyboard self-training with Armenian voice
• Data entry and editing with Armenian voice
• Armenian Reader of Books and documents
• Formation of libraries
• INTERNET reader of Armenian sites (newspapers, agencies)
• Get/send e-mails in Armenian
• Electronic library
• Chess companion
• Calculator
• Computer assistance.

For system operation it is necessary to have computer with sound board and earphones. In extended version, it is necessary to have additionally a printer, scanner and INTERNET connection.

The system functions separately or in LAN.

In separate version the system is installed in one computer. Here the system operates as an independent workstation. In second version several computers are tied-up together and the AREV system is installed in all computers. A scanner and printer are attached to one computer and are shared by all computers in the network.
